Delivery and installation of a chassis dynamometer

For the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart, a four-wheel power roller test bench for passenger cars is newly procured.

The intention is to operate vehicles with internal combustion engines up to 400 kW and an axle load of up to 2.4 t. The exhaust emissions during different driving cycles (eg NEDC or Real-Drive) are measured and compared to the real emissions on the road with the aid of a user-friendly, portable emission measuring device (real-drive emission). In addition, recuperation tests are carried out with electric and hydride vehicles.

The chassis dynamometer consists of two crown rollers.

For the front and rear axles, there is a self-supporting, closed roller set with two eddy current brakes (front axle approx. 2 x 260 kW, rear axle approx. 2 x 260 kW) and one electric motor (30 kW) with converter cabinet per axle.

With measuring modules for recording the temperature, speed, fuel consumption and lambda value.
