Erection of the new building will supply 31 new modern nursing home places, as well as common areas.

It is planned to erect the building as a 3 storey building, in addition to a basement, that altogether provides a gross floor area of approx. 3 600 m2 new construction and approx. 200 m2 of reconstruction into the existing sheltered accommodation.

Odda municipality is overtaking space from Hordaland County (approx. 500 m2) in order to erect the new building that has a footprint of approx. 950 m2.

The basement contains mechanical rooms, new joint changing rooms for women, areas for handling dirty linen, lifts and cleaning centre. A corridor has been planned between the existing Eide Omsorgssenter and the new nursing home.

The first floor of the new nursing home is planned to contain 7 nursing home places, operational functions for the employees, meeting rooms/offices, medication room and drawing room. There will be a new joint entrance for both the nursing home and sheltered accommodation. At the entrance there will also be a chilled area for storing garbage.

The second storey will contain 12 rooms, nursing home places in addition to common areas for the residents. Operational areas for the employees are placed centrally on all storeys, also providing a walking route for the patients.
