The successful contractor(s) will provide an annual inspection and maintenance of oil and gas fired boilers, together with listed ancillary appliances and other miscellaneous oil and gas fired appliances installed on Council controlled premises, to ensure they are maintained in a safe condition so as to prevent risk of injury to any person or damage to any property. The contractor(s) will also provide an emergency breakdown repair service and issue "Landlords Certificates" where appropriate. The service shall further comprise a 24 hour 365 days per year emergency breakdown repair service for boilers / miscellaneous gas and oil appliances. There are approximately 44 properties with oil fired boilers and approximately 1340 properties with gas fired boilers and / or gas appliances. It is a mandatory requirement that the successful contractor(s) hold CHAS GAS SAFE and OfTEC as appropriate to each lot as stated in the tender documents.
This is a fixed price contract to include all call-out, labour and material / parts costs for the period of the contract.
The contract will initially be for a period of 5 years from an anticipated start date of 1.7.2013, which the Council at its sole discretion may extend by a further period of 3 years, and thereafter by a period of 2 years, making a total potential term of 10 years.
