Wave Energy Scotland (WES) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Highland and Islands Enterprise and is taking an innovative approach to supporting the commercialisation of the wave energy sector until the technical and commercial risks are low enough for the private sector to re-enter the sector.
This call was for Feasibility Studies on Control Systems for Wave Energy Converters (WECs), including detailed definition of follow-up Design and Development Project proposals. The call took the form of a three stage programme with applications limited to Stage 1 at this time.
WES offered up to 100 % of project costs, via a contract for Research and Development services for Stage 1 activities.
This included up to 47 000 GBP (excl. VAT) per project of up to 3 month duration, with applicants free to contribute further funds if desired.
