In order to make the energy supply in the north of Düsseldorf more efficient and future-proof, a new U18 substation is being built adjacent to nordpark. U18 is built as a replacement for U13, which no longer meets the new requirements. Here, the already created 110 kV target network is taken into account. U18 becomes a node, with a nine-field 110 kV switchgear. In the future, this will also supply the U36 substation, which will ensure the supply of the airport. For this purpose, changes in the form of cable drawing work, remuff work and final closure assembly are necessary at various points of the 110 kV network.

The exposed location between the Nordpark, Aquazoo and the "White Settlement" requires a high and intensive preparation and coordination with, among others, the offices of the city of Düsseldorf. For example, the Nordpark is crossed with four 110 kV VPE lines. There must also be a connection with two 110 kV VPE cables on Kaiserswerther Straße, as well as the crossing of Hansaallee in the area of the U30 substation with a 110 kV VPE line.

This lot includes the delivery/assembly/supervision of the required two external gas pressure cables (GASA) connection sleeves, as well as seven 110 kV GASA transition sleeves plus.dem short VPE connection cables with a cross-section of 800 mm² Cu (RM) to the connection sleeve provided by the AG for connecting the 2000 mm² VPE single-wire cables from lot 2.

This lot includes the delivery and cable pulling of the required 110 kV VPE single-conductor cable lines with a cross-section of 2000 mm² Al (RMS), the delivery and cable pull of 110 kV VPE single-wire cables with a cross-section of 300 mm² Cu (RM) for connecting the transformers located in U18 to the 110 kV switchgear, as well as the optional installation on provided cable accessories for these cables (connection sleeves/end closures).
