Background
The Swedish Energy Agency wants to create meeting places for investors and Swedish growth companies in the energy sector. The need for capital is great, especially among companies that are in an expansion phase. It is necessary to internationalize Swedish energy and climate technology to increase the pace of the transition and to promote growth in the sector. Bringing in international owners opens up for international expansion, which contributes to the transition globally but also growth in Sweden.
Which investments should be promoted through procured investment promotion services?
The energy transition is central to solving the climate challenge. The pace of transition needs to be increased and efforts for the commercialization of energy innovations therefore need to be accelerated in order for us to achieve the energy and climate policy goals and take advantage of growth opportunities in the sector. Research and innovation are crucial for building understanding and finding new solutions that can help bring about the required system transformation.
The energy transition is largely about moving from an energy system with a high proportion of fossil energy and low resource utilization to an energy system based on renewable energy, efficient resource utilization and circular flows. We are convinced that Swedish innovations in general can contribute to this and have the potential to both increase growth in Sweden and reduce environmental and climate impact in the world.
