The administration of the city of Münster and the Stadtwerke Münster have been commissioned by a Council decision to jointly develop the new construction of the Stadtbade Süd. The owner of Stadtbades Süd is the subsidiary of Stadtwerke Münster GmbH, the “Bädermanagement Münster GmbH”. The planned area is located in the southern part of Münster. The property Inselbogen 36 is located directly opposite the central green area of the listed housing estate of Grüner Grund (Gartenstadt Habichtshöhe/Grüner Grund, built in 1924-1931) and has a plot area of 5 277 m2. The newly built Stadtbad Süd is a sports pool, which is mainly intended for school and club sports, but is also open to public use. The sports pool includes a five-lane swimming pool measuring 12.5 m x 25 m, a non-swimmer pool measuring 8 m x 12.5 m and a toddler area with a water surface of approximately 15 m2. In addition, there are the outdoor swimming pools. The room range comprises a total of approx. 2,000 m2.

The cubic structure with a gross tonnage of approx. 19,000 cbm on an EC basic dimension of approx. 53 x 37 m will be built in one storey and has a complete basement, except for a small section in the north-east.

The pool heat is generated via an on-site district heating transfer station that supplies a heating distribution with nine heating circuits. The static and dynamic heat consumers on the lower and ground floor are connected via these. Downstairs consumers include ventilation units and reheating registers. The static radiators, such as heating walls, are supplied from the technical centre in the basement. On the secondary side for central heat generation, the heating network connects for bath water treatment. This is supplied by heat exchangers.
