The project consists of the replacement of the existing greenhouses, located on the Arenberg campus, Celestijnenlaan 300, with a new greenhouse complex. The new conservatory consists of the actual conservatory compartments, the associated technical facilities and a non-conservatory area with practical space, classrooms and offices.

This is a new research area with requirements in the field of bio-safety. The practicum space has an L2 classification, the greenhouse compartments a G2 classification. Some of the greenhouse compartments have a G2Q classification.

Before the start of the assignment, the existing greenhouses will be dismantled. The greenhouse structure and the greenhouse techniques are recovered for reuse. The existing water basin will be thoroughly adapted, also prior to this assignment, to meet the new needs.
