Bergen Municipality, the Agency for Development, hereby invites tenderers to a contest for an execution contract, HVAC and sanitation in the project K0240 the Hanseatic Museum.
The Hanseatic Museum, Finnegården 1a is a unique cultural memorial in Europe as the
original buildings with intact interiors from the Hanseatic office in Bergen are preserved.
Sjøstuen from 1704 and the accompanying Tasken from 1879 are listed and are also on UNESCO's
'World Heritage List'. The building is the best preserved of all of trade lodges on Bryggen [the Wharf].
Both the UNESCO Coordinator for Bryggen and Byantikvaren [the Urban Conservation Office] have joined the project group.
Vestland County c/o the Conservation Officer for listed buildings and the Directorate for Cultural Heritage for listed ground have
the approval authority for the planned measures for the buildings and ground beneath them respectively.
The Hanseatic Museum is being totally renovated, as settlement has been proved in the filling in
the ground beneath the museum, which has lead to ever increasing damage to the museum buildings over a long
time. This work includes both raising the building by approx. 1 m due to settlement, establishing a new
escape stairway towards the north/back courtyard, and altering Murtasken from administration premises to
new exhibition premises, including new stairs and a lifting table from the ground floor to the 2nd floor. The building is also to be
prepared for modern museum operation.. New technical installations are to be established in the building.
