AWA Entsorgung GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "AWA") plans to re-award the tender for the operational management services for the fermentation plant Würselen, the green waste composting plant in Aachen-Brand as well as for the tunnel composting plant in Alsdorf-Warden and the operation of the recycling center at the Aachen-Brand site. In order to provide interested parties with uniform information on the project, a brief information on the project, the key performance points of the tendered service and the handling of the award procedure according to VgV is available for download via the procurement platform used under the project access of this award procedure. The brief information is also accompanied by forms for the application to participate, which must be used by candidates in the context of the competition. After completion of the participation competition, the applicants selected in the participation competition will be provided with a detailed task description.

The advertised services essentially include:

- Operation of the plants (incl. observance of regulations on the transfer of business according to § 613a Abs. 6 BGB) in compliance with the licensing requirements (incl. reporting with: keeping of the operating log, annual report, verification ordinance, delivery notes, etc.);

- Pre-sorting of biowaste in accordance with the Biowaste Ordinance;

- Maintenance/care and maintenance of the systems, incl. CHP (incl. keeping of the operating log);

- establishment of a permanent on-call service in the event of malfunctions (CHP);

- handling of commercial tasks (including arranging the procurement of spare and wear parts, procurement of operating resources);

- Provision of all semi-mobile equipment by the operator (including maintenance and equipment);

- sampling and analysis in the context of self-monitoring,

- marketing of the (compost) products produced;

- Transport of impurities to the waste incineration plant in Weisweiler (incl. contaminated quantities of green waste from the city of Stolberg);

- Transport of quantities of green waste from the Würselen and Aachen-Brand plants to the Alsdorf-Warden composting plant;

- Transport of leachate from the Würselen plant to the Alsdorf-Warden plant and the Weisweiler waste incineration plant.

For the operator, there is the possibility (against appropriate reimbursement) to use storage areas at the plants for his own commercial activity. This also applies to the (partial) joint use of the tunnel composting plant at the Alsdorf-Warden site.
