Description:

Design Authority role and provision of Post Design Services (PDS), including repair support activities for an in-service Wide Area Network (WAN) capability.



Expressions of Interest are invited from suitably experienced companies to assume the role of Design Authority and to provide Post Design Services (PDS), including repair support activities for an in-service Wide Area Network (WAN) capability. The full role will take effect from 2nd Quarter of 2019 following the ad hoc WAN extension and LAN capability upgrade from contract award (3rd quarter of 2018).

The WAN is made up of third party data links and node equipment that can interface data collection equipment to a number of Command and Control Systems located within the Control Centre. The WAN extension capability is made up of deployable node equipment and RF bearers.

The successful contractor will be selected on the designs put forward for the following activities:

a. WAN upgrade.

b. Control Centre LAN.

c. WAN ad-hoc extension

The implementation of the changes to the network will be part of the work from contract award and will include:

a. Design, manufacture and installation of the WAN upgrade to provide additional bandwidth for future data collection systems.

b. Design, manufacture and installation of a LAN to transfer data from the WAN to a number of Command and Control Systems located within the Control Centre.

c. Design, manufacture and supply of the WAN ad-hoc extension capability.

Once upgraded the WAN, WAN ad hoc extension equipment and LAN will require Post Design Services and repair support until at least 31 Mar 25.

It is anticipated that the ITT will be issued in the second quarter of 2018 with contract award planned for Dec 2018 however improved time scales are being sought.

Companies wishing to participate in the programme will hold, or be expected to acquire List X status with staff cleared to appropriate levels of security.
