The identification and appointment of a permanent Technical Secretariat has been instrumental to improve the application of the provisions of the Directive 2010/35/EU and of the Directive 2008/68/EC, including by providing support to the establishment of TPED Guidelines and in making them available to the relevant public; this approach should continue. The experts selected to perform Technical Secretariat functions should be experienced in following the evolution of Directive 2010/35/EU and Directive 2008/68/EC, and of the relevant standardisation activities, as applicable for the purposes of the TPED. The Technical Secretariat could also offer assistance to the Chair and Vice-Chair in the organisation of the ADCO Group.
