GHG gas analyzer

The Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg aims to strengthen international cooperation and third-party funding through technological advances in the agricultural and environmental sectors. As part of the expansion of research and analysis capacities, program area 1 of the ZALF plans to commission a robotic gas measuring system (mobile gantry crane bridge, approx. 16 m wide, 4 m high) on the field trial CarboZALF-D near Dedelow / Uckermark. It planned to record the current concentrations and the current gas flows of the most important greenhouse gases. For this purpose, the purchase of two GHG analyzers is planned.

Each of the two GHG analyzers to be procured should have the following characteristics (minimum requirements):

- Ability to continuously, continuously and simultaneously measure the concentration of the greenhouse gases water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) in air,

- Precision of the measurement with a measuring time of 1 s: H2O 150 ppm, CO2 300 ppb, CH4 1 ppb, N2O 2 ppb,

- Measuring range: H2O 200-70,000 ppm, CO2 1-8,000 ppm, CH4 0-10 ppm, N2O 0-10 ppm,

- measuring frequency: variably adjustable between 1 s and 1 min,

- maximum drift over 24 h: H2O 100 ppm, CO2 1 ppm CH4 1 ppb, N2O 0.5 ppb,

- Response time: 3 s,

- Ensuring undisturbed measurements despite small vibrations caused by the movement of the gantry crane,

- Interfaces: digital (RS-232), analog (especially for the recording of CH4 and N2O data on data loggers), LAN, USB,

Temperature range of the air samples: -30 to 50 oC,

Working temperature: 10-40 oC,

- connections for gas inlets and outlets,

- acquisition, control and storage of data in real time,

- Possibility to quickly calibrate the measuring system on site using calibration gas mixtures.
