The project includes an approx. 4800 m long 2-lane road planned in accordance with road standard H2 National Main Roads with reduced road width 7.5 m. The plan also includes a bridge, exits, intersections and bus lanes, as well as forestry access roads.

The planning area is located in the south-east of Åmli municipality between Hovdehei in the east and Simonstad in the west.

Foløysund bridge is located on section 2 (Myrvang-Foløya-Simonstad), between profile numbers 4300 and 4340.
