SWO Netz GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Osnabrück AG and is responsible for planning, building and operating infrastructure in the urban area and in parts of the Osnabrück region.
Due to the high importance for Osnabrück's security of supply, the potentially high level of damage in the event of a pipe burst, the long shutdown of the line in the event of damage and the risk to third parties (Bramsche, Wallenhorst), a new construction of the water feeder pipeline (ZBL) from Thiene-Alfhausen became the high-level tank Piesberg (Osnabrück) in larger nominal size. The decisive factor for the larger dimensioning is the expected increase in water consumption in the coming years. From today's point of view, it is not possible to renew an existing pipeline. Supply via ZBL Thiene can only be interrupted for a short period of time (e.g. for integration work).
Performance data of the new feeder cable:
- Low-load operation: 300 m³/h
- Normal operation: 1,000 m³/h
- High-load operation: 1,450 m/h³
The dimensioning of the new feeder line has so far been set at DN 700 (PN16). However, this is to be checked and, if necessary, adjusted by the Contractor in further planning on the basis of the new layout.
In addition to the new building, the existing ZBL Thiene is also to be taken out of operation and tamped afterwards.
The construction costs currently amount to around EUR 26 million net.
In this process, in particular, the necessary engineering services for the feeder management are advertised.
