Description:
Technical advice and assistance for lifetime assessments on water buildings and other infrastructural installations and structures

The Coastal Directorate has responsibility for a number of installations and structures of infrastructural nature, primarily on the west coast of the Jutland. The Coastal Directorate wishes to initiate lifetime assessments of all of the installations and structures for which the Coastal Directorate is responsible. Lifetime assessments shall be based on the current state of the works, as well as relate to elements such as residual life, deferral need for principal restraint by continued capital preservation maintenance and, if any, functional termination against the background of design or climate change. The advice must be delivered in multiple concurrent and coherent tracks. These are compressed process and the advisor must therefore expect to start work with full staffing immediately after contract conclusion, expected in July 2021. The advisor must also expect a high level of production until expected completion of work in December 2022.

The Coastal Directorate has responsibility for some infrastructure installations and structures, primarily on the west coast of Jutland. It consists partly of traditional water-building structures, like dams, piers and quayworks, but also of various sluice works and lighthouses. Due to the general age of the works, the Coastal Directorate has an expectation that extensive investments will have to be made over a number of years to ensure their functioning. In order to clarify and validate the investment needs of the Coastal Directorate, longevity assessments of all of the installations and structures responsible for the Coastal Directorate are required. Lifetime assessments shall be based on the current state of the works, as well as relate to elements such as residual life, deferral need for principal restraint by continued capital preservation maintenance and, if any, functional termination against the background of design or climate change.
