Camouflage covers. There is a requirement for a future enabling contract for the supply of protective covers for a range of weapon systems on the exposed upper decks of HM Ships and RFA vessels. The Contract shall be for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend to 5 years. The covers must be capable of protecting the weapons from the effects of weather and seas in the Naval Generic Environment under DEF STAN 00-35 part 4 weather conditions A1, B3, C3, M1, M2 and M3 and up sea state 6 yet be easily and quickly removable. They must be resistant to airborne pollutants and UV degradation and be conveniently stored when not in use. It may be necessary for tenderers to attend a visit at a UK dockyard or establishment probably in SW England (to be arranged), to view the weapon systems and mounts in situ as part of the tendering process.
