The Alliance for Affordable Housing and Building has been cooperating since 2014 with the Federal Government, the Länder, municipalities, the housing and construction industry, the German Tenants' Association, trade unions and other socially relevant players. In the coalition agreement for the 19th legislative period, the new federal government has decided to continue work within the framework of the Alliance for Affordable Housing and Building. The focus of cooperation until the year 2021 will be the monitoring of the implementation of the agreements as well as the initiation of further initiatives to achieve the goal of housing construction. The Alliance for Affordable Housing and Building is to be continued with the relevant housing and building policy actors to meet the growing housing needs and to meet the social, demographic and energy challenges. Coordination and support in implementing the necessary measures is part of this project.
