University of Helsinki Kiinteistöpalvelut Oy requests a tender for the hazardous waste service of the University of Helsinki and Kiinteistö Oy Biomedicum Helsinki.
The University of Helsinki operates on four campuses in Helsinki and 9 other locations in Finland. KOy Biomedicum Helsinki's largest shareholders are the University of Helsinki, HUS, the City of Helsinki and Senate Properties. The company is responsible for the maintenance and property maintenance of the buildings (Haartmaninkatu 8 and Stockholmnkatu 8) of the Research and Teaching Centre Biomedicum Helsinki.
The tendering process is divided into two parts:
1) other hazardous waste from chemical and laboratory laboratories, and
2) biological and clinical waste.
The provider may only offer one or both parts. If the same bidder wins to take care of both parts, both parts are combined for the same contract.
Most of the hazardous waste is generated on the Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki campuses. In addition, tenants operating on the premises of the university and in the premises of Kiinteistö Oy Biomedicum Helsinki can procure hazardous waste management services under the terms of the future agreement. Tenants make their own agreements with the service provider.
Chemical and laboratory other hazardous wastesThe service to be put out to tender includes hazardous waste management services as the following
all things considered:
• receiving a transport order
• drawing up the movement document required for transport;
• delivery of containers and marking stickers needed for transportation
• marking and packaging of hazardous waste at the pick-up point specified in the order
•conveyance
• recovery at the sorting plant / processing at the disposal site
• breakdown by invoicing cost centre
• reporting, quantity and quality monitoring
• development of the service within the framework of the contract, taking into account what waste and
in the road transport regulations it is said.
• the service provider appoints a safety adviser for the transport of dangerous goods to the University of Helsinki and prepares the documents related to the task for the university
The quantities of hazardous waste for 2021 are listed in Annex 1 to the call for tenders ("Vaarallinen_jäte_2021"). The procurement volumes may vary from year to year, the contract does not constitute a quantity purchase obligation for the client.
