North Bristol NHS Trust provides hospital and community healthcare to residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset together with a range of regional services. Our aim is to deliver exceptional healthcare for all patients and carers. Bristol Genetics Laboratory (BGL) includes Cytogenetics and molecular genetics disciplines, delivers a range of genetic analysis services to the UK and internationally for a wide variety of inherited and acquired genetic disorders. BGL is part of the UK national genetics network and a partner organisation within the West of England NHS Genomic Medicine Centre involved in delivering the 100 000 Genome project. As part of an integrated Pathology service the BGL works in collaboration with colleagues in other pathology disciplines, incl PHEs South West lab service. BGL urgently requires an automated droplet digital PCR machine as part of the wider pathology services and West of England Genomic Medicine Centre Strategy to streamline current service delivery.
Bristol Genetics Laboratory has an urgent requirement for an automated droplet digital PCR machine as part of the wider pathology services and West of England Genomic Medicine Centre Strategy. The machine is urgently required to streamline current service delivery such as disease monitoring, rare event detection and copy number assessment. The machine will also allow the development of new services and bids for new income.
