With the ICN Modernization project, an Ethernet network will be installed in the vehicle along with other components.
The switches are interconnected as components of SBB to a managed 1 000 BaseT (GE) network and configured by the SBB. This wired network on the vehicle allows the connected components to communicate. The network supports functions such as zone separation via VLAN, QoS, SNMP management, security, ring redundancy, PoE and others.
SBB expects an offer for:
- Switch Layer 2 Number 528 pcs. / Optional 1 470 pcs,
- Switch Layer 3 Number 88 pcs. / Optional 72 pcs.
SBB can allocate the total quantity to one supplier or as partial quantities to different suppliers.
