The contractor supports the State of Berlin (districts, BIM, etc. - and thus approx. 4,700 properties) and in particular the Energy Industry Office (currently in the area of responsibility of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises (SenWEB)) in the central energy procurement and energy contract controlling for the energy sources electricity, gas and district heating. In addition, the tasks of the contractor include energy data management as well as energy economics and legal advice to the institutions and various senate administrations.

The contractor shall perform the tasks of central energy purchasing and energy contract controlling in connection with the purchase of grid-bound energies (electricity, gas, district heating). This includes, among other things, the central storage of energy consumption and cost data transmitted by the suppliers as well as regular information for the participating public institutions. The contractor advises the facilities to be supplied on energy management issues. Currently, about 120 facilities (schools, hospitals, police, etc.) and thus about 4,700 properties belong to the energy pool of the state and are supplied with electricity, gas and district heating via the respective state supply contract.
