With the 13th School Law Amendment Act, the NRW state parliament decided in the summer of 2018 to return North Rhine-Westphalian grammar schools to the G9. Since the 2019/20 school year, the grammar schools have been converted to a nine-year course of education. The conversion included grades 5 and 6 of the grammar schools, so that the first G9 cohort will be led to the Abitur in the 2026/27 school year. In this school year, an increased space requirement at the grammar schools will come into effect at the latest, as an additional year will then be taught at the schools with grade 13.

Taking into account model room programmes for the respective specified speed, a deficit in teaching and administrative rooms has been identified at the schools Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium (lot 1), Ratsgymnasium (lot 2), Gymnasium Paulinum (lot 3) and Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium (lot 4). Structural extensions are intended to create the spatial conditions for the conversion to G9.

The object of the contract is the lot-by-lot award of the necessary engineering services for the performance profile of technical equipment in accordance with Part 4 Section 2 of the HOAI in conjunction with Annex 15 to the HOAI for the plant groups and work phases described in more detail in Section II.2.4).

The subject of this lot are the engineering services for the technical equipment for the extension of the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium from G8 to G9. With the grammar school, a usable area of 570 sqm was agreed as a G9 space program for the 5-speed. Taking into account the model room program, an additive room program of an additional 635 square meters was determined.

In the course of the expansion measure, a comprehensive energy-efficient renovation is also to be carried out in accordance with the current building guidelines of the city of Münster, which includes all window, façade and roof surfaces as well as the technical building equipment.

There are numerous limiting factors that allow little room for manoeuvre at the location. This includes the fact that a large part of the school is under monument protection, which on the one hand allows little change to the corresponding parts of the building and on the other hand makes a possible new building on the property more difficult, as sufficient distance to the monument must be maintained. Furthermore, there are parts of the city wall on the property. This is a ground monument, which must not be built over and to which distance must also be maintained. Finally, there is a tree population on the property that is worth protecting, to whose crown eaves area a distance of 4 meters must be maintained and thus large parts of the property can not be built over.

In the course of the expansion measure, a comprehensive energy-efficient renovation of the window, façade and roof surfaces is also to be carried out in coordination with the monument protection authority in accordance with the current building guidelines of the city of Münster.
