Pääkaupunkiseudun Junakalusto Oy (hereinafter referred to as "Junakalusto Oy") arranges competitive tendering for the procurement of the overhaul of air production units (Knorr-Bremse VV120-T) of Sm5 train units.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE PROCUREMENT

Junakalusto Oy has procured 81 Stadler Flirt train units whose national type name is Sm5. All Sm5 train units have been delivered by Stadler Bussnang AG in 2009 – 2017. 81 Sm5 train units have 80 Knorr-Bremse VV120-T air production units.

Junakalusto Oy's basic objective is to ensure that the value and quality of Sm5 train units including their components is preserved, and to secure controlled development of Sm5 train units and components during their entire lifetime. In addition, Junakalusto Oy's objective is also the reduction of the maintenance cost, operating cost and life cycle costs of Sm5 train units.

The purpose of the procurement is to agree on the overhauls to be performed by the selected Seller. The Seller shall carry out and deliver the overhauls of the air production units in accordance with all terms and conditions of the final invitation to tender.

OBJECT OF THE PROCUREMENT

The object of the procurement is the overhauls of the following components manufactured by Knorr-Bremse:

– VV120-T air production units (compressor including air dryer)

The overhauls shall be performed during 2024 - 2026.

A more detailed scope and terms of the overhaul have been specified in the following annexes:

In addition to the overhaul, the transport of each component from the facility shown by the buyer to the facility where the overhaul is performed and back to the facility shown by the buyer is included in the object of the procurement as described in the draft agreement. The dismounting and mounting back the component is done by the maintainer of the Sm5 train units and therefore it is not included in the scope of the procurement.
