We are looking for a specialist planner for fire protection who will take over the fire protection planning in accordance with issue 17 AHO (2022 edition) services for fire protection under building regulations. Particular attention is paid to the support of the object and specialist planners in creating a ES Bau/EW Bau that can be approved. At the same time, the special features of the building should be preserved as far as possible. This makes it necessary to "think outside the box" and to use unconventional solutions. A further assignment is possible after obtaining a positive decision.
As part of the conversion/revitalization of the Columbus Cruise Terminal, the specialist planning services for fire protection are being put out to tender. In a first step, service phases 1-3 are to be commissioned. The building is an ensemble of buildings from the 1950s/60s consisting of a 3-4 storey central building, a 3-storey north wing (an originally planned south wing was never realised).
To the east of the central building is a 6-storey office building with the heating centre in the basement and the former entrance hall to the cruise terminal. The north wing is currently operated as a cruise terminal, with access from the north. The revitalisation envisages that future access (entrance area) will be via the former entrance hall and the central building to the south. According to the current planning concept, it is also planned to integrate areas for events in the vacant area on the 2nd floor of the north wing. According to the original plan, the existing office building was supposed to have 11 floors in the 1960s, but this was not completed. Since it is assumed that the foundation is already designed for 11 floors, the new plan is to add more floors to the office building.
