The trust are seeking a minimum 10 years concession period with a mix of food and non-food retail services. The successful provider is to provide capital to design and construct a new main entrance and using revenues earned to offset investment. The trust is open to suggestions on this and this will be developed through dialogue with the trust. The contract start date will be 26.9.2018 and it is anticipated that the bidder will take over existing facilities and then undertake the construction project. This will include an element of interim services to be provided during the construction period.

It is anticipated that a modular build will be ca 2 000 000 GBP and the potential operator can develop an appropriate funding, construction & service delivery package which best meets the requirements of patients, staff & visitors. There are approx 2 500 staff, 500 patients and significant visitor footfall. The hospital is just under 1 mile from the main amenities in Hackney although there are predominantly independent catering & other retail businesses located close by. There is an existing staff restaurant and this remains out of scope of this exercise. SMEs are encouraged to participate as primary or second tier operator.
