The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is a sample survey covering the population living in private households in Luxembourg. The survey provides annual and quarterly results on the labour force participation of persons aged 15 and over as well as on the so-called inactive persons. The survey is carried out in parallel in all Member States of the European Union as well as in some countries outside the EU and thus provides comparable data for all these countries. By providing data on employment, unemployment and inactivity, the Labour Force Survey is an important source of information on the labour market situation and trends in Luxembourg and the European Union. The data are disaggregated by age, sex, level of education, temporary and permanent employment, full-time and part-time employment, and many other criteria.
