A hosted, integrated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is required for the North West London Pathology Modernisation Project. The Project is an initiative between Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust to develop a new shared services model for the provision of pathology services in North West London. The proposed model of operation is a central hub and 6 spoke configuration. All non-urgent and specialist work will be performed at a centralised hub. Spoke laboratories will operate a 24/7 service to meet the urgent needs of hospital patients and clinicians. A LIMS solution will be deployed across the organisation in both the Hub and Spoke laboratories. The LIMS will support all areas of pathology and will integrate with an number of clinical systems. Included will be off-site hosting of all LIMS central hardware, data centre requirements and wide area networking connectivity to the organisations premises. A revenue based contact is required that will include hosting, implementation, licences, support and upgrades for the life of the contact with minimal upfront capital investment. Initially the solution will be deployed within North West London, but in the longer term may cover other geographical areas nationally. Further information regarding this will be contained in the tender documents.
