The NI Ambulance Service is the sole provider of emergency ambulance response in Northern Ireland. The C3command and control system is the core system that manages the receipt, categorisation of emergency 999calls and despatch of the appropriate resources. It manages all incoming 999 calls, prioritisation and despatch of ambulance resources. The C3 software and associated Stratus hardware is provided by a single supplier who also provides support on a 24 x 7 basis. The contract is for the replacement of hardware and the implementation of a new critical software module known as High Availability (HA) to a business-critical system.
