AFATEK A/S is responsible for the reprocessing and marketing of slag for recycling from a number of waste incineration plants on Zealand and Falster.
A dynamic purchasing system for the sale of slag for recycling is hereby established. The quantity of slag may vary to a not insignificant extent from contract to contract. Each contract is expected to cover a minimum of 5,000 tonnes. Smaller quantities may exceptionally occur. The supplier must collect the slag at one or more of AFATEK's slag sites.

The slag is produced at six incinerators located on Zealand and Falster, and subsequently reprocessing takes place at AFATEK. The supplier must collect the slag at one or more of AFATEK's slag sites located at:
• Selinevej 18, DK-2300 Copenhagen S
• Elektrovej 1, DK-4700 Næstved
• Gartnervej 40, DK-4684 Holme Olstrup and
• Industrimærsken 3, 4241 Vemmelev.
Slag has geotechnical properties that mean it can be used as a substitute for natural materials in road construction and civil engineering.
In order to safeguard the environment, slag cannot be recycled without approval from the local authority, either by recycling in accordance with the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's Executive Order on the Use of Residues, Soil and Sorted Building and Construction Waste, no. 1672 of 15 December 2016 (the "Residual Product Order"), or under the Environmental Protection Act.
