This call for tenders concerns a framework agreement on the delivery of caps to the Danish Defence and the Danish Emergency Management Agency.
Through the framework agreement, FMI must be able to acquire 5 different types of caps:
(1) field cap to the Armed Forces;
2) caps for Soværnet
3) caps to the Marine Home Guard and
4) caps to the Danish Emergency Management Agency
5) caps til DEMA
The Field Cap must be part of the soldier's combat uniform, the Nordic Combat Uniform (NCU). The field cap is used when the soldier performs service, e.g. as a deployee, at a shooting range, or participation in exercises where no helmet is worn. The field cap must thus be able to protect the soldier from various conditions both in relation to weather conditions but also in relation to combat situations during deployment.
These considerations translate into different requirements for the design of the field cap in terms of design, material, sizes and colours. Feltcap must be manufactured in a fabric with a certain EUROCAM camouflage pattern, and the fabric must also be able to meet the heat protection standard according to the principle "no melt, no drip".
The other types of caps must also be adapted to the specific needs of FMI, as they must be made in certain colors and with embroidery, glossy shade or oak foliage on the shade, which is specifically designed for FMI.
The evaluation of the offers will include an expert evaluation of samples. An expert panel will conduct an evaluation of each submitted sample according to specified criteria. The prequalified applicants must request FMI to send the fabric for use in the production of field caps.
