As a result of a feasibility and site survey as part of the fire brigade requirements planning of August 29, 2016, the city of Neumarkt i.d.OPf. intends to build a new main fire station at a new location on the “Kurt-Romstöck-Ring” in Neumarkt i.d.OPf. The fire brigade requirements plan is to be updated so that the relevant investigations are incorporated into the new construction planning. Results from work phases 1-2 and parts of service phase 3 are already available.
An almost flat terrain with a total area of 11,225 m² to be planned is planned in the immediate vicinity of the “Ludwig Danube Main Canal” parallel to the “Kurt-Romstöck-Ring”. A suitable development plan was created for this area. A statement on traffic investigations for incoming and outgoing rescue operations from the office of R+T Verkehrsplanung GmbH, Darmstadt from 22.05.2019 is available.
23 vehicle storage spaces including washing and workshop halls, gender-separated changing and sanitary areas, training and recreation rooms, administration and meeting rooms, workshops and storage rooms are to be built. The space program from work phases 1-2 from architectural firm Schnabel+Partner, Bad Kötzting, determined a usable space requirement of approx. 4,750 m², taking into account all relevant DIN standards.
At present, the main fire station Neumarkt i.d.OPf. at the current site in St.-Florian-Strasse consists of about 65 volunteers, 10 of whom are employed full-time. In addition, the youth fire brigade is represented by another 15 people.
