Development and operation of a digital platform for the BASE project

Development and operation of a digital platform for the BASE project

As a support and interaction tool for rehabilitees, a digital platform is to be developed as part of the project. For this purpose, a contractor is sought who bundles all required services (marketing, hosting on a German server, production of content, low-barrier programming, project management, requirements management, workshops for the development of positive user experiences, creation of a content management system, training of project staff as editors).

The online platform is to be developed sustainably. The project staff of the DRV should also be able to enter changes after the end of the project period.

Optionally, the digital platform can also be offered as an app on mobile phones and tablets, for this effort and additional price must be in a favorable relationship to the advantages for the project. Bidders are free to make recommendations and suggestions.

The name of the platform, like the entire corporate design, must be developed and implemented as part of the project in question, including all graphic and layout work. A preliminary study takes place outside the platform, which defines the modules of the digital modular system.

Minimum requirements/scope of services of the digital platform

1. Profilerstellung

In the first step, the insured create a user account that is as data-saving as possible (possibly the data should be pseudonymized) and have the opportunity to design their profile. Here you can choose an avatar or similar and a user name. If they wish, they can also indicate the start of rehabilitation, the period of their rehab and the rehabilitation clinic.

2. Assessment

In the second step, the insured are asked questions about their current situation. The answers are preferably given on a scale. Possible questions could be: "Have you ever dealt with the topic of rehab?", "Do you feel well prepared for rehab?", "Do you think that rehab can help you at the moment?" etc.

3. Assignment to the modules based on the answers given

The answers are stored and from this it is determined which modules are suitable for the insured persons and in which order they are presented to them. Accordingly, the insured are guided through the intervention, but can also freely choose which module they would like to work on.

4. Module

The modules will deal with the following topics:

- "Tutorial" for the use of the platform (possibly also on-the-fly)

- Rehamotivation

- Rehaziel

- Rehabedarf

- Information and support for the selection of the rehabilitation clinic

- Interaction and communication with a rehabilitation coach

- Success monitoring during rehab (in case of escalation possibly with coach)

- Information

o Checklist and to-do list

o Links to health information

o Links to rehabilitation clinics

o Testimonials

In the modules, the insured can watch videos, they are given tasks, they should edit them. The presentation of image files as well as interactive communication should also be possible. Insured persons should have the opportunity to enter their thoughts either by text input or, if possible, by microphone. The assignment of terms by drag and drop or other graphical solutions are also conceivable.

In a kind of diary, the insured have the opportunity to follow their development. One day before the start of rehabilitation, the insured persons could receive a push message/e-mail in which they wish them a good time and possibly also point out that they still have the opportunity to use the platform.

The contents of the platform are specified by the project team and are to be designed and implemented in close coordination with the service provider to be selected.

If possible, the insured should also be reminded of the platform by push message/e-mail.

5. Dashboard

The rehabilitation coaches and project staff have the opportunity to track the activity of the users in order to send (automatic) reminders to the users and, if necessary, to contact them themselves.

The users of the platform should also receive a kind of dashboard/overview page on which they can track their progress, look at the results of their modules again, etc.

6. Chat function & contact

Insured persons should always have the opportunity to ask questions. These questions are answered by the rehabilitation coaches in a chat within the business hours of the DRV. A telephone number, which may start a call at certain times with a click, should also be available here.

7. FAQ

Frequently asked questions are listed here. To answer these questions with a link to suitable content from the modules.

8. Hilfemenü

The platform should be designed to be barrier-free and the use should be uncomplicated and intuitively structured. Should it still be necessary, a help menu could make it easier for people who have little experience with platforms to use it. A function that reads the texts on the platform would also be conceivable.

9. Miscellaneous

- Software development should be carried out within the framework of an agile project methodology.

- The design of the platform should be appealing, clear, positive, motivating and unobtrusive.

- For the online platform, a corporate design and a catchy name should be designed that is specially tailored to the target group.

- Part of the service is also the creation of the videos mentioned in point 4.

- The user experience should be fluid.

- If appropriate, gamification elements should be integrated (progress bar, tutorial of the platform's features, achievements, ...).

- The texts should be as short as possible and written in simple language.

- Data protection has the highest priority in the implementation. Experience in cooperation with the public service and the data protection of particularly sensitive data would therefore be an advantage.

- The project staff should be trained in order to be able to enter changes to the platform independently.

- The rights of use should apply beyond the duration of the project
