The German National Library (DNB) intends to have historical book holdings of the German Museum of Books and Writing (DBSM) up to the year of publication 1830 digitised at its Leipzig location. The client assumes a gross contract value of EUR 1,150,000.00 (estimate) for the implementation of phases I and II.

The subject of the order is the digitization of the historical book holdings of the German Museum of Books and Writing (DBSM) up to the year of publication 1830 at the Leipzig location of the German National Library.

The intention is to start digitization in April 2023. The term is set at 21 months. Within this period, approximately 6,500 volumes with approximately 2.5 million pages are to be digitized. The client assumes a gross order value of EUR 1,150,000.00 for these services (estimate).

From each volume, the spine as well as head, front and foot cuts, any additional materials and

to digitize historical outer packaging. All scans are to be made with 40 to 60 pixels of the scan background as a border. As a rule, a black scan background must be selected. The digital copies and metadata accepted by the AG must be transferred to the storage system of the German National Library provided by the AG on an ongoing basis.

The digitisation services are to be provided by the contractor on site at the German National Library. The contractor's technology is integrated into the DNB network and thus also has access to the Internet.
