Procurement for waste collection services including fortnightly waste and dry recycling collections, weekly food waste collection, garden waste collection, bulky waste collections, clinical waste collections, and street cleansing services such as mechanical and manual sweeping, litter bin emptying, and removal of graffiti and fly-tipping.
Waste and Recycling Collection and Street Cleansing Services.
The Waste and Recycling Collection Services currently consist of a fortnightly Collection of Waste and Dry Recycling occurring on alternate Weeks, a Weekly Food Waste Collection and an opt-in Fortnightly chargeable Garden Waste Collection from Households that subscribe to the Service. Household Bulky Waste Collections occur throughout the Week and are dependent on the bookings made for the Service. The Authority also undertakes Clinical Waste Collections from Households that require such a service, these can consist of regular scheduled Collections and more ad hoc Collections. The Authority currently does not provide a Commercial Waste Service beyond its statutory duty, and this does not form part of this Contract. There are a small number of Households which have Weekly Collections and / or present blue Sacks rather than Wheeled Bins for Residual Waste, due to access restrictions.
The Service will also include the delivery of Street Cleansing Services, Mechanical and Manual Sweeping and Litter Bin Emptying.

- A Kerbside Collection of Waste from Households (Fortnightly on an alternative Week Basis).
- A Kerbside Collection of Dry Recycling and Recyclables from Households (Fortnightly on an alternative Week Basis).
- A Kerbside Collection of Food Waste from Households (Weekly).
- A Kerbside Collection of Garden Waste from Households (Fortnightly, Opt-in chargeable basis).
- Bulky Waste Collections from Households.
- Clinical Waste Collection Service from Households.
- An Assisted Collection Service.
- Delivery of Waste and Recycling to the Delivery Points.
- Delivery and management of Container stock.
Street Cleansing Services will include:
- Street Cleansing, including Highways, Housing and Car Parks / external garage and commercial areas Cleansing.
- Emptying and Cleansing of Litter Bins.
- Removal of Graffiti, Flyposting, and Fly-tipping. and
- Removal of all arisings to the designated Delivery Point.
A number of provisional items will also be covered by this contract.
