Superlocal is the umbrella name for the area development around three high-rise flats in Bleijerheide in Kerkrade. Recycling and sustainability are central to this Superlocal project.

The Superlocal project is working together with WML, WBL and the municipality of Kerkrade on an innovative sub-project: the development of a closed water cycle. A decentralized water supply in which it is the ambition to realize various water-saving facilities in-house (part of HEEMwonen) and to collect, purify and supply rainwater as an out-of-town (WML - WBL - municipality of Kerkrade) as drinking water. The intention is also that waste water is collected and treated locally so that it can be reused (for example in a local car wash and launderette) before it is infiltrated into the ground. Within this project, a buffer facility must be created for the separate collection of rainwater and drinking water.
