- this service contract relates to the study of existing road signs on the roads of the Brussels capital region, and to the study of the necessary adaptations to be made on this within the framework of the “Ville 30” project involving the introduction of a general speed limit of 30 km / h throughout the territory of the Brussels capital region;
- the signaling study will notably consist in leading to the establishment of purchase orders intended for the execution of the modifications to be made on the existing road signs and the addition of any new signage necessary within the framework of the installation of the “Ville 30” project, while basing itself on the regulations in force.
In particular, the following points should be taken into account:
- pay particular attention to the signage relating to the different road users (pedestrians, cyclists, heavy vehicles, etc.);
- pay particular attention to optimizing the visibility of road signs;
- if it is deemed necessary for the safety of users or on the basis of the highway code or the manager's code, the installation of additional road signs must be proposed;
- the compliance of existing road signs with existing regulations must be checked;
- identify and give advice on road signs complementary to regulatory signs (public transport signs, advertising signs, various informative signs, etc.);
- check the agreement between road signs and road markings;
- propose, on the basis of the hierarchy of roads and in order to increase road safety, the prioritization of certain roads.
