The object of the contract is the provision of the residential care service for minors in situations of lack of protection and with the protection of guardianship or guard assumed by the Xunta de Galicia who require a socio-educational and therapeutic intervention specialized in mental health disorders.

This is a specialized program aimed at the care of minors with mental disorders whose biological and psychosocial characteristics, following the joint assessment of the public entity for the protection of minors and the public health system, require specialized supervision in a residential care resource specializing in mental disorders. Its purpose is to promote the care of the particularly vulnerable child, with the participation of highly qualified personnel, in a protective environment that promotes mental rehabilitation and emotional development, and the child's return to basic residential care facilities as soon as possible.
Like any residential care, it is a protective and educational measure, in the most comprehensive sense, in which it must emphasize its therapeutic character as it will seek to achieve change and improvement in the child's emotional balance, self-control and adaptive abilities.
General objectives of the resource.
• Create a safe and secure environment for children in which conflict situations are minimized and learning experiences based on appropriate educational models of responsibility and positive relationship can be generated.
• To achieve, using socio-educational and therapeutic techniques, a reduction in psychological and psychiatric problems and an improvement in the emotional situation and well-being of children, allowing them to return to a more normalizing context as soon as possible. Intensive socio-educational and psychological treatment work will be carried out on personal problems and conflicts that may be at the root of mental disorders.
• To constitute an interdisciplinary resource that offers a wide variety of activities and services to individualize interventions, such as individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, workshops related to job training, vocational guidance, job search techniques, independent living skills and preparation for adulthood, among others.
• Provide a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment that respects and promotes cultural and ethnic identity, and promotes maximum personal development and growth while meeting their educational, social, developmental, health, behavioral and emotional needs.
• To offer a daily environment of coexistence that facilitates positive experiences of bonding, support and affection that allows young people to acquire new patterns of communication and social relationship.
• Assist minors and their families, in accordance with the provisions of their Individualized Protection Plan or case plan, to improve their skills to cope with the conditions that were an obstacle to creating a family context of welfare and becoming active subjects in the intervention process.
• Support older adolescents to make a transition to suitable adulthood through intervention in general and specific skills, access to social resources, and social, emotional and community supports.
• Encourage the establishment of long-term community supports and social ties that are needed to facilitate well-off social integration after the residential experience.
