The client, DVZ Datenverarbeitungszentrum Mecklenburg-Vorpommern GmbH (DVZ M-V GmbH), in its role as a central IT service provider of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Administration, must ensure that it is equipped with IT technology and software at the corresponding request of these and other institutions sponsored by the State M-V as well as companies owned by the State. In addition, the client has its own need for IT technology and software both for its own purposes and as well as to provide various application services and infrastructures centrally as an IT service provider of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, including for the state administration of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The aim of this award is to ensure the procurement of network technology and accompanying services.

The CN LAVINE as a central data transfer and information network enables a multimedia and inter-agency provision of applications and services for the public administration of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. DVZ M-V GmbH operates this wide area network on behalf of the state of M-V. Accordingly, the CN LAVINE is provided exclusively for the state and local governments M-V. Various network architectures and technologies are combined in this WAN and managed and administered by DVZ M-V GmbH via a dedicated infrastructure for public administration.

The CN LAVINE serves as a basic infrastructure for communication within the state administration in M-V, between the state administration and the municipalities in M-V and within the municipalities.

In 2016, DVZ M-V GmbH carried out a procurement procedure on behalf of the state M-V for the renewal of the communication infrastructure of the public administration of the state M-V from 2017. As part of this award, technology from the manufacturer CISCO and accordingly specialized services were awarded. In this respect, the CN LAVINE network was rebuilt with Cisco technology. Thus, DVZ M-V GmbH operates a homogeneous IT technology structure (wide area network / data center / IP telephony) based on components from the manufacturer Cisco on behalf of the state M-V. The construction of the existing structure was associated with considerable investment and training costs.

The aim of this award is to ensure the smooth and economic modernization of the communication landscape of the state M-V with network technology and accompanying services, which has been uniformly built up over several years. It is an essential task of DVZ M-V GmbH to avoid risks of malfunctions, compatibility problems and license violations.
