Structural planning / building physics: New construction of the Kreuz elementary school
Description of the property and the procurement service
The city of Dortmund is planning a new building for the Kreuz elementary school as part of the development of the school center Kreuzstraße 145-163, 44137 Dortmund (district Dortmund, hall 19, parcel 405). The existing building of the primary school from 1914 will be dismantled afterwards (not part of the order).
In the run-up to the commissioning, an external architecture office was commissioned to prepare a feasibility study as part of the project qualification (May 2019). In the context of this study, 2 variants “conversion including renovation of the old building” and “construction of a new building” were examined for the additional space requirements. In February 2020 the IKI (Infrastructure Investment Conference) decided that the planning variant for the new building should be pursued further.
Subject to coordination with the building regulations office, the new building will be planned as IV-storey or III-storey with a stacked storey, taking into account the existing height of the neighboring building. The total land area of the Kreuzstrasse school center is approx. 64,000 m

Overall, the following services are advertised:
- Structural planning according to § 51 HOAI Paragraph 1 and Annex 14, Lph. 1-6,
- Consulting services for building physics in accordance with Annex 1, Paragraph 1.2 HOAI, performance phase. 1-6 as well as special services.
The following rough draft of a schedule is based on initial assumptions made by the client.
- Planning and tendering April 2021 - June 2023,
- Start of construction March 2023,
- Completion August 2025.
