The Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex (“PCC”) and the Chief Constable for Essex (“CC”) are seeking proposals from firms wishing to be considered for appointment as statutory auditors for a 5 year period commencing with the audit of the financial statements for the year ending 31.3.2019.
The audit must comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements. The audit will be conducted with regard to the duties of “local auditors” set out in the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (the Act) and the National Audit Office's code of Audit Practice. In Particular, the auditor will need to be satisfied that the accounts comply with legislative requirements; that proper practices have been observed in preparing the accounts; and that the statement presents a true and fair view.
