Description:

Hoses. Hoses. Maritime Equipment Systems has a future requirement for the supply, manufacture, and provision of technical assistance services for Replenishment at Sea (RAS) hoses used for the transfer of fuels, oils and water between Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) and Royal Navy (RN) ships. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate competence and experience with the manufacture and most importantly type testing of RAS hoses iaw MoD Defstan 22-94. If the supplier is unable to currently meet the type testing requirement of DEFSTAN 22-94, any other suitable NATO standard will be accepted if it is adequately justified and demonstrated by the supplier to be able to withstand typical RAS requirements. This could be accepted with a view to the supplier developing conformance to DEFSTAN 22-94 within an agreed timescale. This will include the requirements associated with the harsh environments that the equipment is exposed to worldwide. The equipment will include, but is not necessarily limited to; — 2.5” – 7” diameter hoses — end fittings — hose accessories to include seals and protective caps.

Contract requirements may include but not be limited to the following services and supply:

— Project management,

— Post design services,

— Provision of spares and consumables,

— Rationalisation of spares lists,

— Obsolescence management

The contract may contain lists of items that will only require pricing through the duration of the contract when ordered by the Authority. Suppliers wishing to express an interest in this requirement are required to:

A) submit a copy of their accredited 3rd party (or government issued) quality management system (QMS) certification which includes an appropriate scope to meet the requirement. In the event that no certification is held, the company must be able to demonstrate that they operate and maintain a QMS acceptable to the Department for this requirement.

B) Confirm that they are willing or able to trade electronically using the purchase to payment (P2P) business process.

Companies who submit an expression of interest will be required to complete and submit a pre-qualification questionnaire to confirm their suitability to be included in the tender panel for this requirement. The Authority's decision in this matter will be final.
