The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is planning the construction of the technical center in Halle B for the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI in Braunschweig.

The planned new construction of the technical center in Hall B will offer office workplaces for 50 employees.

The space required by the new building for the new office, laboratory and technical center space to be built is around 3,350 square meters of usable space (NF 1-6). NF 1 Living and residence: 84 m 2 ; NF 2 office work: 660 m 2 ; NF 3 Production, manual and machine work, experiments: 2 029 m 2 ; NF 4 Storage, distribution and sales: 537 m 2 ; NF 5 Education, teaching and culture: 72 m 2 ; NF 6 Healing and Nursing: 12 m 2 .

The new building is to be realized on a new plot of land adjacent to the campus.

A technical center is to be built for chippers, steam shredders, laboratory presses, veneer peeling machines, drying cabinets, a gluing unit for wood particles, a press unit working with high-frequency fields and laboratory equipment. The hall should be free of columns with a width of approx. 15-20 m and be equipped with one or more bridge cranes, 6 t load capacity, 8.5 m hook height.

Office and laboratory buildings are also to be built. These include, among other things, chemical and physical laboratories, storage and air-conditioning rooms for wood and a technical center for surface coating. In this, water-thinnable and solvent-based paints are applied via spray or roller application. A spray booth with a standard climate and high air volume is required.
