Reconstruction Naumburger Straße, Jena
Lot 01 - Track and road construction, technical equipment
Lot 02 - Catenary renewal Altenburger Straße to Löbstedt
Track and road construction, technical equipmentJenaer Nahverkehr GmbH intends to reconstruct the track change and the adjacent tracks to the north. Construction is scheduled to take place in 2023.
The construction project comprises five phases:
1. the change of track
2. the track, Part 1
3. the track, part 2
4. the stop «Stifterstraße» and
5. the technical equipment
With this service description, the track and road construction work as well as the renewal of the cable systems are put out to tender. The deliveries of the rails and switches are described and awarded by Jenaer Nahverkehr in a separate delivery tender. Thus, the rails and switches are provided to the track and road construction company.
The track construction and road construction works as a whole include the laying or construction:
• two turnouts (W16 and W 17) EW 60R1-50-1:10-R,
• approx. 975 m cross-sleeper tracks with hardwood sleepers,
• approx. 315 m cross-sleeper tracks with reinforced concrete sleepers,
• the extension and adaptation of the «Stifterstraße» stop,
• approx. 5000 m traction power and low voltage cable.
In connection with the reconstruction of the tracks in the 1,000 mm gauge, the installation plan will be compacted along the entire length and improved if necessary. The existing level protection layers or frost protection layers remain in the existing building and are only improved if necessary. The existing track surrounds made of concrete shelves will be removed according to the defined sections and adapted to the new structure gauge in terms of position and height.
In addition to the two new points W16 and W17, the section of the track change will have a cross-sleeper track made of hardwood sleepers with grooved rails 60R1 and a transition from grooved rails 60R1 to vignole rails 49E1. This is manufactured by factory-made transition rails.
The mainline track, Part 1 shall be constructed as a cross-sleeper track with hardwood sleepers with a standard distance of a = 750 mm. It is planned to design the tracks in the areas with wheels above R = 200 m with vignole rails 49E1. The areas with transition arches and bends with radii R < 200 m shall be made with grooved rails 55R1. The transitions from grooveless rail profiles to grooved rails can be made on site. The transition length is at least 700 mm. In the area of the "Stifterstraße" fire brigade crossing, prestressed concrete sleepers with a standard distance of a = 600 mm must be laid.
In the mainline track, Part 2, cross-sleeper tracks are also provided. The areas with radii R > 200 m are to be designed with vignole rails 49E1 on hardwood cross sleepers and a standard distance a = 750 mm. The area with radii R < 200 m is to be designed as a transverse clamp track with grooved rails 60R1 on prestressed concrete sleepers and a standard distance a = 750 mm. The transition from grooveless rail profile to grooved rails is made with factory-made transition rails. In this case, the change is in the straight line and must be made with prefabricated transition rails (L = 7,500 m). In the area of the crossing to GUW13, prestressed concrete sleepers with a standard distance of a = 600 mm must be laid.
At the "Stifterstraße" stop, the existing platforms have to be adapted to the new standard headlights of Jenaer Nahverkehr GmbH. In detail, this means that the platform edge is given a greater distance to the track axis, a higher entrance height and that the platform edge is extended. As a requirement of the operator, platform edges BSK 12 are to be used as an angle element with factory-installed anchor rail 28/15 for fastening a rubber profile. The track crossings shall be designed as a crossing point with a differentiated board height. For this purpose, appropriate special boards must be used.
Due to the changes to the platform edges, the associated ramp elements and the newly designed track crossings, various adjustments have to be made in the carriageway and pavement area.
Catenary renewal from Altenburger Straße to LöbstedtRenewal and reinforcement of a re-tensioned 750 V Stadtbahn catenary system in the Jena northern catenary section 1 in the course of the BV track renewal of Naumburger Straße.
LOT 2: Naumburger Straße between the stops Altenburger Straße and Löbstedt, flush with the street as a high chain on side pylons with multi-track booms and transverse fields. The catenary system is continuously provided with a Valthermo contact wire 120 mm² (or equivalent material) and the carrying cable is designed with Cu 120. The new cross fields are constructed with a cross-section of at least Bz II 50 mm². The masts are designed as 8-edge steel masts. The masts are to be founded by means of steel drill pipes.
For the renewal of the catenary system, the following services must be provided:
Production of drill pipe foundations, setting of steel masts, construction of booms, cross fields, and curve extensions including cable gliders and contact wire holders, laying of chain conveyor catenary and single contact line, connection of the renewed catenary system to the existing structure, restoration of one of the connections of an existing feed.
The scope of the order includes the supply of masts, steel drilling foundations and all add-on parts. Furthermore, this includes the assembly of all necessary system components as well as the functional commissioning of the completed catenary system.
During the construction period, tracks and switches will be renewed at the same location. The track centre axes will be adapted, and the Stifterstraße stop will also be rebuilt. It is therefore to be expected that other companies will be active in the construction sector at the same time (track construction, stops, switch systems, signalling technology), which could lead to increased coordination effort, obstructions and other additional expenses, which, however, will not be remunerated separately. Work coordination is the responsibility of the contractor in consultation with the track construction company and the client. A joint construction schedule or a construction schedule to be agreed with the track construction company must be drawn up and submitted to the client for examination 14 days after the contract has been awarded. The specifications of the track construction company are decisive for the construction schedule of the contractor.
