Description:
Container gantry crane for the Container Terminal Logport VI

The subject of this award procedure is the design, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of a container gantry crane for handling containers up to 45 ft in the planned trimodal CT terminal logport VI in Duisburg-Walsum. The scope of services must also include the expert acceptance with test loads including test weights as well as the training and instruction of the operating and maintenance personnel.

It is an outdoors operated, rail-bound, electrically driven jib gantry crane for continuous container handling, which should be designed as a single girder gantry crane with a trolley. The crane must be able to drive over 1 over 3, “high cube containers” plus a safety distance of 0.5 m and be equipped with a telescopic spreader.

In addition to the crane, a spare parts package is to be offered that contains all the spare parts required from the manufacturer's experience for a period of 5 years.

Hafen Duisburg-Rheinhausen GmbH (client) is planning to build a trimodal CT terminal on the logport VI site in Duisburg-Walsum, which is located directly on the banks of the Rhine (formerly the Walsum paper mill). The main task of the crane is to handle containers from ship to truck and vice versa with the necessary intermediate parking on the site, as well as direct transfer from rail to rail and from truck to truck.

The crane must enable continuous handling of 20 ft, 30 ft, 40 ft and 45 ft containers.

The crane runway will be built on site and will probably be available in September 2021. When designing the crane, the maximum load capacity of the old quays, the fluctuating water levels of the Rhine and the noise protection must be taken into account. The specific requirements are contained in the tender documents.

The scope of delivery and services includes:

1. the technical design, calculation and construction,

2. manufacture and assembly in the manufacturer's workshops,

3. the factory tests and factory acceptance tests with production controls with the creation of a production manual with certificates and approvals,

4. delivery, transport to the point of use and unloading,

5. complete mechanical and electrical assembly,

6. commissioning and testing,

7. the expert acceptance with test loading including test weights.

8. the training and instruction of the operating and maintenance personnel.

In addition, a spare parts package is to be offered which, based on experience, includes all spare parts required over a period of 5 years. The price of the spare parts package is part of the evaluated offer price.

The delivery must be complete in the sense that it includes all parts and equipment and documentation that are required for proper operation, maintenance and repair.

The delivery of the crane in the largest possible components is required. The contractor is responsible for the delivery, insurance, unloading, assembly including the required mobile cranes or aerial work platforms, installation and testing up to final acceptance by the client.
