With around 15,000 students, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia. Eight departments are spread over the three locations in Dort-mund (Sonnenstraße, Emil-Figge-Straße and Max-Ophüls-Platz).

Due to the continuing growth, dortmund university of applied sciences intends to connect the additional building Josef-von-Fraunhoferstraße 23, 44227 Dortmund to the location Emil-Figge-Str. 44, 44227 Dortmund (LOS 1) via unclocked, symmetrical 10Gbit/s direct data connection and the location Max-Ophüls-Platz 2, 44137 Dortmund to the location Sonnenstraße 96, 44139 Dortmund (LOS2) via unclocked, symmetrical 1Gbit/s direct data connection.

The connection of the building Josef-von-Fraunhoferstraße 23, 44227 Dortmund to the location Emil-Figge-Str. 44, 44227 Dortmund (LOS 1) is subject to the conclusion of a lease agreement for the building.
