The procurement covers waste containers

On 1 January 2024, municipalities will be responsible for the collection of packaging from households. This means that the municipality takes over responsibility for existing recycling stations. By 2027, the collection of packaging from households and co-located businesses will take place through property-related collection.

For Tjörn, this means that vessels need to be purchased to be able to collect the fractions linked to the new responsibility. It will start by expanding property-related collection of packaging in the municipality's apartment buildings and common pick-up points, and then expand and include independent properties. The choice of collection system has not yet been decided, but the majority of purchases for property-related collection are expected to take place in 2025 and 2026 in order to meet the requirement for property-related collection by 2027.
