South Somerset District Council wants to appoint a design team to support the Octagon Theatre project delivery. To provide full design services as set out in the 2020 RIBA Plan of Work Overview for the project described in our brief via a Design Team led by an Architectural firm (Design Team) to progress from the current stage which is considered to be the end of RIBA stage 1 through to completion of stage 6.

Under the programme, the Design Team is required to complete the design by 03/02/2023 so that SSDC is ready to issue a tender to appoint a construction contractor on 06/02/2023. Tender Period is 40 days from 6/2/2023 to 31/3/2023.

The appointment is expected to be from August 2021 through to November 2023 when the construction is complete.

Unless clearly covered by excluded requirements stated below, the intention is that the Design Team will be responsible for all core tasks and core statutory processes in the Plan of Work, and include the Principal Designer for CDM purposes.
