NHSL requires to purchase a state of the art intra-operative Neuro-Navigation and Imaging system. This will include a neuro-navigation system for real time tracking of instruments with overlay on images for other modalities (e.g. MR, CT and Ultrasound) for conventional image guided surgery. Imaging will be required to monitor in real-time the intra-operative progress of the resection & assess vascularity for resection control and to compensate for brain shift. The equipment will be sited within the operating theatres of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh and will carry out adult procedures (approximately 60 - 80 surgical procedures p.a.).
