Hønefoss has its water supply from ground water wells at Begna, via Kilemoen, where there currently is an elevated basin with equipment for airing and possibly adding chlorine to the drinking water. The facility at Kilemoen shall be extended with a new process plant as the manganese content has increased, so that the manganese can be removed from the drinking water. In addition the pH shall be increased and a new UV plant shall be installed as a part of the processing plant. The capacity of the new processing plant shall be 230 l/s.

By using a more extensive treatment process, the contracting authority also wishes to expand the volume of clean water in the basin.

Ringerike municipality c/o Development has held a negotiated procedure for the procurement of a complete pure water basin in stainless steel, delivered in a turnkey contract.

The contract has been awarded to Lafopa Industrier AS.
